Course Description

This course will cover key concepts and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), how to deliver behavior-analytic services with fidelity, and how to record and collect reliable data. Additionally, students will also be taught the common functions of behavior, how to use motivators and reinforcers, and reduce or increase target behaviors by following an evidence-based behavior intervention plan. Lastly, students will learn how to make ethical decisions and follow protocol. 

Learner Outcomes

The learning objectives are as follows: 

  • Objective 1:  Students will understand the core concepts and principles of the field of ABA
  • Objective 2: Students will learn how to implement evidence-based interventions to help clients learn positive behaviors while eliminating maladaptive behaviors.
  • Objective 3: Students will learn how to reliably collect data.
  • Objective 4: Students will learn how to assess the client’s level of motivation and engagement, as well as identify reinforcers and punishers.
  • Objective 5: Students will learn how to make ethical decisions and uphold clients’ dignity.
