Course Description

This course will provide encouragement and guidance for teachers.  Classroom teachers will receive specialized expertise and support through instructional coaching. The instructional coach will conduct classroom visitations and provide feedback to support the teacher.  Effective instructional leadership will be provided to move teachers toward growth in effective teaching practices.  Collaborative Coaching model.  

Course Outline

  1. Conduct classroom visitations and provide feedback to support teachers.
  2. Provide effective instructional leadership to move teachers toward growth in effective teaching practices.
  3. Identify appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students, including students with diverse learning needs.
  4. Provide support and assistance to classroom teachers.
  5. Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content  and learning strategies embedded within lessons.
  6. Model instructional and/or behavior management strategies (ex. co-teach a lesson.
  7. Collaborative coaching model.

Learner Outcomes

Learners will be provided with the tools necessary to be an effective teacher and improve their teaching practice.

Prerequisites

Must have a valid teaching credential.

Prerequisites: Districts must have a contract agreement with the iteachnetwork/Lisa O'Neill before enrolling in the course.
