Course Description

This course aims to help students demonstrate mastery of behavior analytic principles, concepts, theories, and applications.  

In this course, students are expected to:

  1. Take two full-length mock exams (two 120-minute exams, and one full-length 240-minute exam), meeting at least 80% mastery.

  2. Orally define and provide examples of at least four items from the BACB/QABA’s task list. Specifically, there are 9 sections on both BACB and 8 sections on the QABA’s task list. The questions will be randomly selected by the instructor. Students will meet with their instructor 1:1 to verbally answer questions via Zoom or Google Meet session.  

***This is a REQUIRED course per PaCE for students to successfully complete the BCBA/QBA program. 

Course Outline

At the start of the course students must schedule a 1-to-1 appointment during the quarter to take their oral competency exam. Students will be able to access the appointment calendar via course webpage (i.e., Canvas). The oral exam will take place via video conference platform (i.e., zoom). Students are expected to be present and have their video turned on the entire time.

Additionally, at least 72-hours PRIOR to the oral exam, students must complete the full-length mock exam online. Students MUST pass the full-length mock exam with an 80% of higher in order to proceed with the oral competency exam. Students will be allowed to re-take the mock exam until 80% mastery is met.

Prerequisites

Must have completed all 7 courses in the BCBA/QBA program and be an approved Candidate (have submitted the Program Application and paid the non-refundable $150 Application Fee before enrolling in this course). Students must have completed all 7 courses in the BCBA/QBA program.
