Course Description

This course aims to help students demonstrate mastery of behavior analytic principles, concepts, theories, and applications.  

In this course, students are expected to:

  1. Take a full-length mock exam (4 hours of testing in one sitting) at least 72 hours PRIOR to taking the oral exam.

  2. Orally define and provide examples of at least two terms from each section of BACB/QABA’s task list. Specifically, there are 9 sections on both BACB and QABA’s task list, thus students will be tested on at least 18 terms. The terms will be randomly selected by the instructor. Students will be given 2-minutes per term to define and provide an example.

***This is a REQUIRED course per PaCE for students to successfully complete the BCBA/QBA program. 

Course Outline

At the start of the course students must schedule a 1-to-1 appointment during the quarter to take their oral competency exam. Students will be able to access the appointment calendar via course webpage (i.e., Canvas). The oral exam will take place via video conference platform (i.e., zoom). Students are expected to be present and have their video turned on the entire time.

Additionally, at least 72-hours PRIOR to the oral exam, students must complete the full-length mock exam online. Students MUST pass the full-length mock exam with an 80% of higher in order to proceed with the oral competency exam. Students will be allowed to re-take the mock exam until 80% mastery is met.

Prerequisites

Must have completed all 7 courses in the BCBA/QBA program.  Students must have completed all 7 courses in the BCBA/QBA program.
