XLRN 870A - Child Life Prep Program

Course Description

In this intensive 4 session prep program, students will work closely with the instructor to deep dive into child life internship preparation including; eligibility assessment review, creating a competitive internship readiness common application, mock interviews, and more!

Course Outline

Each week, the instructor will target specific professionals skills/development: 

• Session 1: Eligibility assessment, pre-internship, child life internship, & affiliation 
• Session 2: Types of interview, types of questions, etiquette & more
• Session 3: Mock interviews and feedback 
• Session 4: Internship readiness common app review and Q & A

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this prep program, students will: (1) develop a child life internship readiness common application (2) develop professional skills for internship opportunities outside of UCSB, (3) refine interviewing skills, and (4) be well prepared on how to apply for child life internships
