Course Description



The field of User Experience (UX) Design is ever-evolving-- and with this evolution comes new design tools, techniques, and strategies. Principles of User Experience is an introduction to the science behind UX design, illustrating the breadth of the field that extends well beyond the web and demonstrating the strict research methodologies that support it. Understand the principles of Human Factors and User Interface Design, including theories of human-computer interaction, and design principles and standards. In this e Principles of UX course, you will also focus on user and task-analysis (framing, establishing goals), field research methods (observation, interviewing, testing, documentation of personas, budgeting), usability testing, and the UX process (task models user journeys, content requirements, wireframes), and more.

Notes

Students should have the latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud. While not required, students are encouraged to utilize a subscription to LinkedIn Learning as a supplement to the course (access available with your UCSB NetID and password.).
