Course Description

This course will focus on managing the constant change that the 21st-century educator and leader must keep pace with in order to best serve our students. With new standards, frameworks, and the pace that knowledge is doubling, an adaptive mindset to change is essential. This course will explore how to focus on dispositions of being adaptive in the classroom and as a leader in K-12 public schools.

Learner Outcomes

Following this course, students will be able to implement a mindset of embracing change through understanding how to cultivate mindfulness, persistence/grit, autonomy, empathy, and growth mindset into their classrooms. Students will understand the foundations of change, why humans are resistant to change, and how to develop a classroom and leadership approach that prepares students to embrace change in a world where information is vast, fast, and fleeting
