Course Description

In this course, students will learn how to design studies to effectively assess cognitive (learning) and affective (emotional, attitude, interest, confidence) outcomes in informal science learning contexts. 

Course Outline

This course provides opportunities for participants to design and conduct an evaluation of an exhibit, program, or other activity at MOXI.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Describe how museums fit into a larger ecosystem of learning to help children and adults develop new understandings about science content and to inspire curiosity and interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) fields.  
• Design informal learning experiences to be facilitated at the MOXI.
• Conduct an evaluation of this learning experience as it relates to engagement with an exhibit, program, or other activity at the MOXI.
