Course Description

Teacher Induction Program Continuing Education Units

If you are interested in earning academic credit from UCSB Extension for the professional development courses you are completing, please review the following

Series of courses for 2nd-year TIP candidates. For example, TIP 405 provides opportunities for you to stretch your boundaries as an educator and move your practice from foundational to a more responsive and engaging model. By utilizing Hattie’s Visible Learning for Teachers, this course helps support examination of student data to inform and advance your teaching practice. After having a reflective conversation with their mentors, second year teacher induction candidates plan their course completion based on their area of inquiry. This series of courses provides professional development opportunities for teacher candidates working toward a clear credential.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of these courses, candidates will be able to:

  • Present second-year findings based on area of inquiry and professional development study.
  • Synthesize understanding of the teaching/learning process for preparation and submission of performance assessment for clear credential.
