Course Description

Designed to focus on strategies and systems for developing social capital within an education system. Candidates will learn how to develop cultures of collaborations, facilitate strong networks of support for enhancing student achievement, how to foster distributed leadership within an organization. Special emphasis is placed in this course on leading school change processes.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Share leadership with others in the school community
  • Communicate with the school and community about school wide outcomes, data, and improvement goals
  • Institute collaborative, ongoing processes of monitoring and revising the school growth plan based on student outcomes

The program is sponsored by the Santa Barbara County Office of Education. You must be a full-time employee of the district to be eligible.
