Course Description

This course is a continuation of the South Coast Writing Project I, ED X302.5A The institute provides for a program of activities that calls upon accomplished teachers of writing from pre-school through university. Participants continue to work in a community of fellows devoted to teaching each other and to engaging in a cooperative inquiry into an overview of the advanced research and writing about composition, its pedagogy, and its linguistic and psycholinguistic bases. Participants examine and learn how to apply the current theory in composition, develop techniques for teaching writing skills, enhance their own abilities as writers and Teacher/Consultants. This advanced group of teachers will have developed, through this course, the skills and training to be presenters for schools and districts during the regular school year.
