Course Description
This course examines the policies, structures, and governing bodies that shape sports organizations at the collegiate, amateur, and professional levels. Students will study compliance standards, rule enforcement, and policy frameworks from entities such as the NCAA, NAIA, NFHS, and international federations.
Course Outline
This course is designed to familiarize students with the systems, tools, and infrastructures used to support sports compliance and organizational oversight. Learners will be introduced to the compliance frameworks, data systems, and technology platforms relied upon for monitoring, reporting, and enforcement across sport organizations. Emphasis is placed on developing fluency in accountability and responsibility within regulated environments.
Students will also be prepared to understand how legal exposure, ethical obligations, and governance decisions affect organizations, leaders, and participants. By the end of the course, learners will be positioned to engage effectively with compliance officers, administrators, and governing entities in professional sport, collegiate athletics, and amateur sport settings.
