MGMNT X490D - AI Innovation Capstone Studio
Course Description
This studio course guides teams through the full project cycle to design and deliver an AI-enabled solution for a real business or organizational need. Students apply concepts from the three content courses while advancing a single project over eleven weeks.
Weekly studio blocks focus on planning, building, and iterating with instructor and mentor feedback. The capstone includes a two-week final sprint in Weeks 10 and 11 that emphasizes prototyping and delivery, success metrics and monitoring, portfolio polish, and next step career planning.
Final submissions include a slide deck, a project artifact or demo, and a brief process summary. Presentations may be live or recorded at the instructor’s discretion. When feasible, teams may present work in a final showcase with invited industry reviewers.
Learner Outcomes
- Scope and validate a user or business problem, defining goals, constraints, and success criteria.
- Build a concept proposal, prototype, or hybrid deliverable using appropriate tools, prompts, data flows, and workflows.
- Integrate human-in-the-loop, ethical, legal, security, and operational considerations, and document mitigations.
- Define and track success metrics; run a limited test or pilot and interpret results to guide iteration.
- Communicate value, feasibility, limitations, and risks through a stakeholder-ready narrative supported by evidence.
- Produce a final submission package: slide deck, artifact or demo link, and a two-page process summary capturing key decisions and iterations.
- Present for instructor evaluation and, when feasible, engage in a brief Q&A with invited industry reviewers; summarize how feedback shaped next steps.
