Course Description

This course focuses on behavioral assessments for individuals with autism. Specifically, the course covers the following areas: identifying the problem behavior, conducting a functional assessment (indirect and descriptive assessments), understanding the different types of functional analysis, developing function-based behavior goals, and developing a function- based behavior treatment plan. The course also covers other assessments such as preference assessments, reinforcer assessments, and strength-based assessments.

Learner Outcomes

Learner outcomes and course objectives: 

  • Objective 1: Students will understand the process of conducting a functional behavior assessment, which includes the following components: indirect assessments, direct assessments, and functional analysis.
  • Objective 2: Students will also learn about alternative assessments.
