TMP X454 - Agile Approaches to Project Management
Course Description
Building on the concept of Agile project management as initially presented in other UCSB PaCE Project Management courses, this course will consist of a deep dive into the origins of the Agile approach, definition and application of the concepts and terms supporting it, and a close examination of the most common Agile types such as Scrum, XP, Lean, and Kanban. Several Agile PM software tools will be demonstrated, along with a section on how to introduce an “iterative development” practices into a workplace.
The course will present the methods, processes, definitions and activities required to manage, direct and complete a project using Agile methodology. The course will survey all common Agile types, providing a solid understanding of these practices and how to apply them appropriately in “real world” settings.
UCSB PaCE Project Management courses are taught by PMP Certified Instructors and have more than 35 hours of instructional time. Thus meeting the PMI Educational Requirements to take the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and qualifying for currently certified individuals to earn PMP Professional Development Units (PDUs).
