Course Description

This is an introductory course to Naturalistic Developmental Behavior Interventions (NDBI). The course will cover the history, background, and the different NDBI models with an emphasis on Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).  Additionally, the course will review evidence-based intervention strategies that align with the core values and principles of NDBI. Lastly, the course will cover implementation of NDBI in the school settings.

Learner Outcomes

The learning objectives are as follows: 

  • Objective 1: Students will be able to identify the different NDBI models.
  • Objective 2: Students will learn different antecedent intervention strategies to implement in a variety of settings.
  • Objective 3: Students will learn different consequence intervention strategies to implement in a variety of settings.
  • Objective 4: Students will learn how to address and teach social skills.
