Course Description

The workshop is intended for in-service K-8 mathematics teachers. Participants will learn about current best practices for engaging with their students in rigorous problem-solving experiences.

Participants will engage in a variety of activities to demonstrate effective teaching strategies for working with K-8 students in mathematical inquiry. They will also design and deliver their own lesson using these principles.

Learner Outcomes

Participants will learn how to design lessons the allow students to think critically and make sense of mathematical concepts. Additionally, participants will develop and deliver a lesson for their students using the best practice principles discussed in the workshop.
