Course Description

Co-taught by the Program Coordinators under the overall coordination of one of them, this is the gateway class to the Environmental and Climate Advocacy, Leadership, and Activism Certificate. The goals and objectives of the Program will be explained and explored by the group. These include introductions to the three themes of the program: advocacy, leadership, and activism in climate and environmental justice.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will:

  • be able to articulate the various meanings of environmental and climate justice
  • have a basic grasp of the principles and practices of Environmental Advocacy, Sustainable Leadership, and Climate Justice Activism
  • have articulated a project and chosen an advisor of their final project for the Certificate
