Gutzeit Photography

This hands-on course explores Adobe Photoshop’s tools for use in professional image processing and editing. Used widely throughout the entire creative industry, this industry-standard program is not only essential, but often critical to photographers, photo editors, and those involved daily with photo processing and editing. Gain a foundational understanding of Photoshop’s most powerful tools and techniques, and learn the fundamentals and key insights to: tools, palettes, selections, layers, imaging workflows, and special creative applications.

 

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Comfortably navigate the Photoshop interface
  • Use basic retouching and image editing tools
  • Work with layers and layer masks
  • Use adjustment layers to adjust color and tone

Christy Gutzeit, Instructor

An award-winning photographer, retoucher, and educator, Christy Gutzeit’s decades-long immersion in post-production work include projects for Nike and Cover Girl, as well as numerous feature films and music videos. Gutzeit’s projects have won national recognition in creative excellence, including Clio, MTV Music Video, and BAFTA awards, and her photographic work has appeared in "Martha Stewart Living" and "W Magazine", among others. She also brought her in-depth knowledge and broad industry expertise to courses in Retouching, Digital Asset Management, Visual Design, and CGI Photography, while a faculty member of Brooks Institute.
