This course is for 2nd year Mentor/Coaches. Coaches continue their professional learning from a variety of course that align with their professional goals and areas of inquiry. Coaches have opportunities to further enhance their coaching practice by discovering and applying the Instructional Coaching Cycle (Knight) to address the challenging situations that beginning teachers face. They learn how to partner with their candidates to set and reach improvement goals that will have an unmistakable, positive impact on their practice and their students’ educational experiences.
Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of these courses, candidates will be able to:
- Learn techniques/strategies for partnering with their candidates to set and reach improvement goals.
- Employ research-based techniques and an understanding of human dynamics for the purpose of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with their candidates.
- Enhance their coaching practice by discovering and applying the Instructional Coaching Cycle (Knight) to address the challenging situations that beginning teachers face.
