ED X365.5B - Behavior Assessment and Intervention Part II
Course Description
This synchronous 10-week online course is a continuation from the first assessment course (ED X365.5). The course will delve deeper into conducting a proper functional behavior assessment (three components), and the selection and implementation of function-based behavior intervention techniques and approaches from applied behavior analysis. In this course you will learn from weekly lectures and reading assignments, and be asked to participate in virtual discussions, weekly quizzes and assignments to demonstrate your understanding of course content. Students will specifically learn about a variety of Functional Analysis methods, as well as how the completed Functional Behavior Assessment informs goal-setting and the development of behavior intervention plans.Learner Outcomes
In this course students will review recorded weekly lectures, complete weekly quizzes, contribute to class discussions, conduct a mock functional analysis (FA), develop appropriate goals and a function-based behavior treatment plan, and determine next steps for intervention based on mock data. The Functional Analysis (FA) completed will be done with a mock client (data sets will be provided) unless a student is already working with a client and has supervision and oversight from a BCBA in their current setting. If you would like to complete a FA with your own client, please reach out to your instructor directly to discuss how this may impact your project.
