This course equips police officers with practical strategies to address challenges posed by the opioid crisis. Participants will gain skills in crisis de-escalation, resource utilization, and collaboration with local and national networks to support individuals affected by opioid use disorder (OUD) and co-occurring conditions.

  • Recognize and respond effectively to individuals with OUD and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to manage high-tension situations safely.
  • Understand legal considerations and risk management for law enforcement in opioid crises.
